Lab-Grown vs Natural Diamonds
Diamond origin is a personal choice. A lab-grown stone and a natural stone can both belong in a carefully considered piece; the right choice depends on what you value and the specification you want.
What distinguishes the two origins?
Natural diamonds form through geological processes. Lab-grown diamonds are produced through controlled technological processes and have essentially the same chemical, physical and optical properties. Lab-grown diamonds are diamonds; they are different from simulants such as cubic zirconia. Origin must be disclosed, even when two stones look similar.
Compare the whole stone
Compare shape, measurements, appearance and the available grading documentation alongside origin. A higher clarity label alone does not describe a diamond’s proportions or how it handles light. Ask to see the exact stone details before deciding. For coloured centre stones, confirm the colour request and any treatment separately from the colour grades of white accent diamonds.
How the Valdora options work
Diamond designs offer an origin selection alongside precious metal and requested clarity. Many new engagement designs also offer a centre-weight choice. Listed prices are estimates for the chosen configuration. Natural diamonds are subject to availability; unusual colours and bespoke specifications may require a personal quotation. The photographed design is a reference rather than a promise of a particular stone.
Before you make payment
Submit an order request with your preferred combination. We then confirm the selected stone, exact specification, available laboratory report, final price and delivery. A secure payment link follows that agreement, and order confirmation follows payment. Choose an origin for its suitability to you rather than assuming that either origin guarantees a resale value.
Your questions
Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. They have essentially the same chemical, physical and optical properties as natural diamonds. Their laboratory origin must be disclosed.
Can I request a natural diamond?
Yes, where the design offers that option. Natural stones are subject to availability and we confirm the exact stone and final price before payment.
