Choosing Gold, Platinum or Sterling Silver
Precious metal influences a piece’s colour, finish and character. Begin with the look you enjoy, then consider how you will wear the design and how it will sit alongside the jewellery you already own.
14K and 18K gold
14K gold has 585 fineness and 18K gold has 750 fineness. These numbers describe the gold content of the alloy. Valdora offers white, yellow and rose gold options in both finenesses. The alloy and finish also influence the final colour, so the photograph should be treated as a design reference when you choose a different metal.
White gold and rhodium finishes
Our white gold options include a rhodium finish. That surface gives the piece its intended bright appearance and may need refreshing with wear. The finish and the underlying alloy are separate parts of the specification. If you prefer a particular shade of white, discuss it before your order is confirmed rather than relying on a screen image.
Platinum and sterling silver
The platinum option requests 950 platinum; the sterling silver option requests 925 silver with a rhodium finish. Neither option is interchangeable with white gold simply because all can appear pale in a photograph. Consider the finished piece, the setting and the supplier-confirmed dimensions. Your estimate changes when you change the precious metal.
Matching a wedding pair
Coordinated wedding pairs are priced for two rings and have independent size choices. The standard selector applies one metal choice to the set. A mixed-metal pair, a two-tone finish, an inlay or a different size can be requested through the personal-quotation option. We confirm the alloy, finish, dimensions and final price before sending a payment link.
Your questions
What do 585, 750, 950 and 925 describe?
They identify the requested metal fineness: 14K gold 585, 18K gold 750, platinum 950 and sterling silver 925.
Can two wedding rings use different metals?
Request a personal quotation for a mixed-metal pair. The standard set selector uses one metal choice for both rings.
